Smoky Days In California

The last few weeks we have had some smoky days on the Central Coast of California. With wildfires both to the north of us in the bay area and east of us in and around Los Angles, may days the skies are so filled with smoke that they turn orange. Though we are blessed to be out of the range of the current fires themselves, the smoke often makes the air is difficult to breath.

As a Texas girl that grew up on the Gulf Coast, I hear of a hurricane is coming… That is okay, I know what to do and how to prepare. And those storms are so big you know more often than not how to get away from them. And when it is all over, there is still a change everything will be there. Wildfires on the other hand, freaking me out! These things are fast moving and unpredictable. And when they come through, there is nothing left. They consume everything. It is scary, even when I know that I am currently out of the range of the fire.

To the brave First Responders. Firefighters and EMTs; Thank You! Thank you for walking into the fires, risking so much to save the lives of others, their homes, and their businesses. To me, you all are heroes!
