Riding With The Litas And I Crashed My Bike

The day started out amazing by riding with the Litas for a girls lunch run down to Neptune’s Net. It was a really nice day with the bit of haze off the coast giving it an almost soft quality. We were 6 riders, three that I had met that day, and it was looking like it would be a wonderful experience.

And then it all turned when I crashed my bike. Everything was going great, and then we had a mishap and I went down. The newest rider had an issue going very slow around a tight turn and dropped her bike. She was okay and got right back on. The issue was in trying to turn around on a narrow, steep, mountain back road with traffic taking the curves too fast, I went down. Hard.

Yes, me and Scarlett both will be okay, just some bumps and bruises. I am healing and most of the damage to Scarlett are things I can fix. I am taking that as a win.

All that would have been enough for one day, but on the way home I had to use my emergency breaking skills to avoid not one, but two inattentive drivers! The first one pulled out from a parallel parking spot without looking. With oncoming traffic in the other lane, I had nowhere to go and had to break hard. The second, the driver looked right at me and still pulled out in front of me. He looked right through me!

With more and more things opening and life slowly returning to a faster rhythm, please keep your eyes open and stay aware. It is getting crazy out there everyone!
