Reclaiming the American Road Trip

Recently my husband an I decided it was time for road trip. We talked about how much we were looking forward to getting out, spending some time on our bikes, seeing the sights, and experiencing new things. Yet when we started talking about where to go and what we could do while remaining safe in the current pandemic, I started to realize… the art of the American Road Trip is something we were losing.

We were stumped. Stalled. Broken down on the side of the road in a way. Why? Because we couldn’t think of any place ‘important’ to visit. Especially with so much still closed down in California.

I mean, really - when did it become a thing that the destination was the most important thing? When did it become a thing to endure the journey? Well, no more! I am reclaiming the love of the journey. To just get out and enjoy the road, to be in the moment, and to enjoy time with those that I riding with.

So, who is riding with me? Are taking a right or a left at the end of the street?
