Pacific Coast Highway Road Trip Part 1

We finally did it! We booked a place and took off for 3 days to ride the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and wine country about Paso Robles, CA. On our first day we road from Santa Barbara, CA to Morro Bay, CA where we had lunch and checked into our cozy little "Sanctuary By the Sea" (I highly recommend it) before heading out to ride the wine country around Paso Robles, CA. It was amazing!

We took the opportunity to revisit some roads we were on last year for my Mom's birthday and to see some other parts of this beautiful country. I remember riding this road on that trip a year ago. I was still relatively new to riding and I was leading our group of 4 that day. I was so scared and focused on making sure everyone else was okay that I did not enjoy the views. This year, with well over 10K more miles under my belt… I had a blast!

It was a fun road and I am beginning to understand why they call California the 'Golden State'. The hills truly do look like they are gold! Well until you find these vast patches of green that are the vineyards. It is so stunning to see the landscape change.

Once we made it back and parked the bikes for the night, we walked to Three Stacks and a Rock Brewing Company. A local Morro Bay brewery with a diverse selection of local offerings and pub eats. And as we enjoyed our brews, we watched the sun sink into the Pacific. It was the perfect ending to a great day.

Check back next week when I will have the footage from riding Hwy 1 (the PCH) from Carmel-by-the-Sea to Morro Bay.

Until then… Get out and ride, have fun, be safe, and catch you in the next blog……
